“MARION WOMEN’S CLUB INVITES LADIES to LUAU BRUNCH

SUPPORTING ROYAL FAMILY KIDS CAMP”

MARION, OH—Swim up to a Hawaiian-themed brunch as the Marion Women’s Club presents a “Ladies Luau Tropical Brunch” Saturday, July 12 – and support abused and neglected children at the same time.

With a luau theme for food, décor and entertainment, guests are invited to participate in the Club’s service project supporting children attending Royal Family Kids Camp this summer. “We’re inviting guests to bring new swimwear – children size 7 through Adult XL,” explains Pam DeGood, event chair and Women’s Club 2nd vice president. “We’ll then donate these items to Royal Family Kids Camp so they can have fun swimming and making memories at camp this summer.”

Including a service project with the brunch is a way to honor and continue the Club’s longtime tradition of serving the community, explained Valerie Wigton, Women’s Club president. “Most recently, our service projects have included providing art supplies for the Marion Family YMCA childcare program, shoes for the Student Clothing Bank at OSUM/MTC, and infantwear for Voice of Hope Pregnancy Center. We’ve had an overwhelming response each year,” she noted. “Our guests are always so generous.”

Serving the community is at the heart of the club’s mission, Wigton added. “We have a long history of serving children, families and of course, women,” she said. “Our Club’s brunch is a great way to enjoy great food and friendship, but this year, it’s also an opportunity to bring joy to children who need it most.”

Luau-themed “surprise” entertainment, a best-dressed contest and door prizes will also be featured.

Catered by Women’s Club board member Sue Schwamberger, the luau-themed menu includes chicken salad croissants, sweet & sour meatballs, mini quiches, roasted veggies, fruit kabobs, pineapple upside down cake, and a chocolate fountain, as well as water, iced tea, coffee, and juice.

Tickets for the all-inclusive brunch are $35, which include one door prize ticket and one mocktail or mimosa beverage. Reservations must be paid in advance by Monday, July 7. To reserve your spot, call the Women’s Club Home: (740)387-1366; or visit Facebook, search “The Marion Women’s Club & Home” and use the QR code.
