HerStory Spotlight: Mrs. Helen Lott

President of the Marion Women’s Club from 1938–1940, Mrs. Lott brought the heart of an educator to her leadership. A graduate of Wilmington College and Ohio Northern University, she taught in Caledonia, Claridon, Prospect, and at Marion Business College, and remained active in Marion’s cultural and church life.

During her presidency, the Club strengthened its committee structure, prioritized scholarships for local students, supported community health efforts, and continued its long-standing commitment to the arts. Funds were thoughtfully managed to ensure students could continue their education, and programs like Fine Arts Day and Music Appreciation Week reflected her love of learning and culture.

Her steady leadership reminds us that meaningful impact often comes through careful stewardship, educational advocacy, and faithful service to the community.

OUR MISSION: Empowering women and enriching the community, while preserving the historic home and promoting the Club’s legacy.
