MARION, OH— The Marion Women’s Club & Home wants a new look, and is inviting designers, artists and “creatives” to participate in its recently launched logo contest.
“We’ve really transformed and energized our Club over the last decade,” explains Valerie Wigton, president. “Now it’s time for our logo to represent who we are. We know there are a lot of creative folks out there, and we’d love to have them participate.”
A $500 cash award will be presented to the designer of the winning logo. Entrants must be 18 years of age and complete an official submission form to accompany each entry. Submissions will be accepted through May 31, 2025.
“A logo not only represents who you are, but it serves as the foundation of your brand identity,” Wigton noted. “It should grab attention, be memorable and make a strong first impression.”
Marionites likely recognize the “big white house with a circular front porch and black iron fence on East Center Street,” said Wigton, “But they likely do not realize it’s the permanent headquarters for Marion Women’s Club, and represents generations of women who with impactful stories since the club was formed in 1895.”
Others may have been inside the property’s Abigail Harding Lewis Auditorium which was added in 1962. It’s the site of baby and wedding showers, family and class reunions, business and civic organization meetings, as well as Women’s Club functions.
“We’re confident we’ll receive submissions that reflect not only who we are today—a vibrant, active, mission-focused service organization,” Wigton added, “but also reflects our 130-year history.”
