Historic Home & Grounds

Can I rent or use the Historic Home - or part of it?

The historic home is not available for rent. One of the Club’s long-term goals is to transform it into a living museum featuring stories of local women who have impacted our community. Built in 1903, the Historic Home is on the National Register of Historic Places and considered a historic “gem.”

If I rent the Auditorium, can we use the grounds?

Auditorium renters are invited to casually roam the outdoor area, play outdoor games, etc.; however, all Auditorium tables & chairs must remain inside the Auditorium. Special arrangements must be made with the Club’s Telephone Team in advance if you wish to rent tables & chairs, tents, etc. for outside use.

Can I use the Front Porch?

The Historic Home’s Front Porch makes a pleasing backdrop for photos; however, due to its historic nature, the Front Porch is not available for any other use. Please refrain from smoking on or near the Front Porch.

Food, Drink, & Amenities

Do you have a recommended caterer?

You may select your own caterer of choice. We do not make recommendations.

Do you have tablecloths, serving ware, etc. I can use/rent?

Round and rectangular tables and chairs are included in your Auditorium rental. Chair pads and coverings can be rented for $1 each (advance notice required at time rental agreement is signed). You must provide all other items you may need for your event.

What appliances are available?

An commercial refrigerator (no freezer), warming oven, Keurig coffee maker, and urn coffee makers in the kitchenette are included with your rental; however, there is no disposal; liquids must be emptied and all trash must be placed in trash bags, tied and taken to the receptacle in the parking lot.

What kind of alcohol am I allowed to serve?

Beer (served in cans) and wine (boxes or bottles) only.

Decor, Layout, Set-up, AV Equipment

Can I come in early or stay late to set up/decorate or tear down?

No. Your selected rental block (“5-hours” or “ALL DAY”) includes the time you need to set up/decorate and to remove décor/trash, etc. If you extend your departure time listed on the rental agreement form, you will be charged a $100 late fee, taken from your deposit.

What can I hang on the walls?

Walls are not available for any type of décor – except around the kitchenette serving window – you may use the provided Command hooks located on this wall (only). The wall hanging system featuring the wildflower collection on the north wall is not available for renter use and must remain in place.

How do I adjust the temperature in the Auditorium?

The Club volunteer who meets you will adjust the temperature to a comfortable level upon your arrival. Exit doors must be kept closed to allow for appropriate climate control.

What about the piano?

Only trained musicians pre-approved in advance by Club leadership are allowed to play the piano. Liquids, foods and/or vases cannot be placed on top of the piano.

What type of A/V equipment do you have?

At the time your rental agreement  is signed, you may choose to rent the microphone and sound system, as well as a projector and large screen, located on the south side of Auditorium. See Rental Agreement Form & Rates (link to this page). Many renters bring their own Bluetooth speakers; internet service is included in rentals.

Is someone on site to help me?

Our Club volunteer will meet you at an agreed-upon time to open the Auditorium on the day of your rental. She will review rental guidelines, adjust the temperature, and answer questions. You (or your designee) must stay on site throughout the duration of your entire rental block; keys/codes are not provided to renters. You will be provided with contact info if an issue arises.

What do I have to do before I leave?

You must empty all liquids and place all trash in bags provided, be sure bags are securely tied and take to the receptacle in the parking lot. A dry mop, wet wipes and disinfectant spray are provided. Silver chairs and tables can remain in place per your setup; padded mauve chairs (if used) must be stacked in their original storage area. Prior to your departure, a Club volunteer will meet you to inspect the Auditorium and will provide you with a rental survey.
